New online shopping platform, Temu, a subsidiary of Chinese-based PDD Inc., has witnessed widespread downloads in late 2022, ranking first in the iPhone App Store among all free apps in the U.S. last month, according to analytics firm Sensor Tower
Temu runs an online superstore for virtual commodities; from home goods and electronics to apparel, as it known after making its Super Bowl ad debut, surpassing Amazon and Walmart.

The surprisingly low prices that Temu offers have drawn comparisons to Shein, the Chinese fast fashion upstart that also offers a wide selection of inexpensive clothing and home goods, and has had a significant upsurge into markets including the U.S.
“Through the largest stage possible, we want to share with our consumers that they can shop with a sense of freedom because of the price we offer,” a Temu spokesperson told CNN in a statement.
