Telecom Egypt, the state-owned landline monopoly, appointed Maged Othman as chairman of the board and Tamer Gadallah as chief executive, it announced in a bourse statement Thursday.
On Wednesday, Egyptian government replaced all of its representatives on Telecom Egypt’s board of directors.
The government appointed Tamer Gad Allah, former communications minister Maged Othman, Ashraf Halim, Lobna Helal, Ahmed Mohamed, and Mohamed Shamroukh as its representatives.
Former Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Director of the Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research ‘Baseera’, Maged Othman revealed that he submitted his resignation as board member of Orange Egypt after been appointed few days ago.
Orange formerly announced a reshuffle in its board of directors last week to include former minister of communications Atef Helmy, Former Minister of Communications Maged Othman and former minister of investment Osama Saleh.
