ASEA’s President Benimadhu: Annual Conference Targets Unleashing African Investment Potentials

Sunil Benimadhu, Chief Executive of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius (SEM) & African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) President:
“Welcome to all the delegates to the 16^th ASEA Annual General Meeting and Flagship Conference. I would like to commend our gracious host, the Egyptian Exchange for organizing this year’s event.

The main theme of this year flagship conference is unleashing African investment potentials. I think this theme is a perfect concurrence with tremendous investment opportunities that Africa and African stock markets offer to the international investment community.

In an international economic environment characterized by zero or sub-zero growth rates, Africa seems to be back to on the track with an average growth rates exceeding 5%.

More importantly, Africa’s growth is not an even in a resource base, but it seems to get across a wide spectrum of sectors and activities. So I invite the investment and international investment communities to have a closer look at Africa’s growth potentials and to invest in the great companies that are listed across the different stock exchanges in Africa.
