South Korean Hyundai Rotem, part of the Hyundai Motor Group, is offering the Egyptian government a soft financing designated to purchase 64 new trains for Cairo Metro’s third line.
Egyptian Minister of Transport Galal al-Saeed has held a meeting in Cairo on Sunday with Yoon Soon-Gu, South Korean ambassador to Cairo, to discuss means to boost bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the transport sector, notably in metro, railway, and port projects.
Hyundai Rotem has entered the Egyptian Transport Ministry’s tender for a soft financing for the purchase of 64 trains for the third metro line once completed.
The ministry will pick the company that provides the best financial and technical offers that benefit the country after being assessed and studied by a foreign advisor and the National Authority for Tunnels, al-Saeed stated.
