Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will meet on Monday with a U.S. Congress delegation, as well as with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Schteinmeier, at Ittihadiya presidential palace, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
The Congressional delegation is led by Representative Devin Nunes, chairman of the Permanent Select Committee for Intelligence at the House of Representatives, a committee which has oversight over around 17 government agencies working in military and national intelligence.
In his first visit to Egypt, the German FM expressed on Sunday Germany and Europe’s support for the country in fighting terrorism and fixing the economy and social problems.
In mid-March German Chancellor Angela Merkel had invited El-Sisi to visit Germany after Egypt holds its delayed parliamentary elections.
Also in March, a US Congress delegation had visited Egypt and met with El-Sisi, Egypt’s FM Sameh Shoukri and Egypt’s defence minister Sedki Sobhi.
