Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has met on Thursday with Hassan Abdalla, acting governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
During the meeting, the Egyptian president stressed the need to develop monetary policy in line with the ongoing global developments, to diversify sources of foreign currency, and to provide an attractive investment climate.
Prior to his appointment as CBE acting governor, Abdalla was chairman and managing director of the United Media Services (UMS). Earlier, he was the CEO and managing director of the Arab African International Bank (AAIB). He was also the first assistant to the central bank governor in 2018.
Abdalla has served as board member of several entities, including the Institute of International Finance (IIF), the Emerging Markets Advisory Council (EMAC), the CBE, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), Ghabbour Auto, Coca-Cola, Endeavor Egypt, Telecom Egypt (TE), and Orascom Construction.
