Shell signs 27-year LNG supply deals with Qatar for Netherlands

Shell will buy up to 3.5 million tons per annum (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Qatar for the Netherlands, as per two 27-year sale and purchase agreements signed on Wednesday, according to a statement.

The LNG volumes will be sourced from the two joint ventures between QatarEnergy and Shell that hold interests in Qatar’s North Field East (NFE) and North field South (NFS) expansion projects.

Qatari Energy Minister Saad al-Kaabi expressed his delightedness towards the deal, adding that the agreements “will further enhance our decades-long relationship and strategic partnership in Qatar and around the world.”
