SFD Finances Infrastructure Projects In Minia

Ghada Wali, secretary general of the Social Fund for Development (SFD), and Serag Al Ruby, the governor Minia, signed today the agreement of the drinking water quality improvement program in the presence of the Norihiro Okada, the Japanese ambassador to Egypt, and Anita Nirody, the UNDP resident representative in Egypt.

The program will be financed through a part of the Japanese grant offered to UNDP amounting to US$ 5.5 million with the aim of the execution of infrastructure projects and the offering of social services.

The program aims at constructing 31 subsidiary projects to supply the drinking waters stations in 31 villages in the six poorest centers in Minia. The project requires a finance of EGP 4.4 million. Japan will grant EGP 4 million, while people in Minia will contribute with EGP 400, 000.

The establishment of the project will necessitate recruiting 23,520 people.
