The Saudi Foreign Ministry along with European officials on Sunday discussed the issue of facilitating visa-free entry of Saudi citizens into Schengen countries.
This came during the meeting of Waleed Elkhereiji, Saudi vice minister of foreign affairs, had met with Dimitri Giotakos, head of visa policy at the general authority for migration and home affairs of the European Commission.
In the same context, a meeting was held in Riyadh, and the necessary procedures were discussed to facilitate Saudi citizens’ entry into the Schengen countries without obtaining a prior visa.
At the beginning of this month, Ambassador of the European Union to Saudi Arabia Patrick Simonet had said that there is an upcoming announcement about a new visa system that would make it easier to obtain a “Schengen” (multiple visa).
