Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Jabor al-Thani, Chairman of Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), has met Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad al-Thani, head of corporate sales at Qtel.
Sheikh Nasser praised the work being done by QCS.
He said that Qtel was proud to partner with QCS, which is moving to a new headquarters.
Sheikh Khalid gave a presentation on a vehicle that QCS intends to acquire. It will be used for early detection of cancer.
Sheikh Nasser said this vehicle would encourage those who may be embarrassed by the prospect of having to seek tests.
Sheikh Khalid explained that breast cancer affects many women in their youth. Sometimes, there are around 52 cases of such cancer a year, which means a case each week, adding that nearly seven of these cases are detected only at a very late stage.
He said that the new QCS headquarters would have six clinics, three each for men and women. Dr al-Dosari, head of QCS culture committee, was also present at the meeting.
