“Cairo Transport App Challenge” Initiative to Start Next Saturday

An initiative entitled ” Cairo Transport App Challenge” will be launched in Cairo next Saturday.  People working in the fields of web development, design, marketing, and media are encouraged to participate.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency ( ITIDA) will participate in this open-to-public initiative. The initiative is organized by the Wold Bank, in collaboration with Dotopen, Google Developers Group in Cairo, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Green Arm. Google, Orange.  It is sponsored by Google, Orange, Green Arm, Arabnet, and Wamda.

The initiative aims to increase awareness of the challenges of transport in Egypt by inviting experts in transportation and urban development, volunteers from the  “Technology Community” to develop technological applications that can alleviate the problem of transportation in Cairo. The initiative comprises a number of stages and will last for several months.
