Prosecutor General Refers Complaint Against Constituent Assembly To Investigation

Prosecutor General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud referred the complaint, which filed by the founder of Coptic Mainstream-Magda Naguin Fahmy- against the Constituent Assembly to draft new constitution, to investigation. The complaint was filed by reason of the participation of members that banned from exercising their political rights and outlaws in drafting the constitution.

The intro of complaint (9283/2012) mentioned the Prosecutor General Petitions; calling for drafting a constitution protects Egyptians and includes all spectra of people, not influenced by one faction or being written by outlaws.

The Coptic Mainstream founder added that she has filed a lawsuit before the Administrative Judiciary court and the State Council against the Constituent Assembly, but she was surprised by the participation of the MB lawyer. This participation is illegal and she called for challenging the judge and delaying it till submitting the proxy document.

The complaint’s intro called on the Prosecutor General to rapidly suspend the sessions of the Constituent Assembly till judging the lawsuits filed in the State Council.
