Patent Jury Orders Samsung to Pay $119 Million to Apple

A federal-court jury found Samsung Electronics Co. infringed on some of Apple Inc.’s smartphone patents and ordered the Korean company to pay $119.6 million to its U.S. rival.

The jurors also found that some Apple AAPL +0.19%  iPhones and iPods infringed a Samsung patent, and ordered Apple to pay $158,400 in damages to Samsung.

The jury of eight men and women including a former school teacher, an executive assistant and a former manager for International Business Machines Corp. deliberated for three days.
