French telecom giant Orange inaugurated on Monday its first digital bub in Tunisia.
The newly established centre in Tunis is wholly dedicated to offer a broad-scale support to early-stage companies, including training young staff in coding to more direct guidance, startup acceleration and investment.
Orange Digital Centre comprises four strategic programmes, including the coding school, which offers training and events for developers, and entrepreneurs with ideas for project.
The new hub will also include a EUR 50-million investment fund for supporting innovative startups in Africa and the Middle East in areas of financial and educational technologies.
In addition, Orange’s centre will have a startup accelerating programme, aiming to ink domestic and international business partnerships and help enhance managerial capabilities and commercial development of startups.
“These new spaces aim to consolidate Orange’s standing as a key player in the digital transformation of the countries where we operate,” CEO for Africa and the Middle East Alioune Ndiaye said.
