One protester was reportedly killed after security forces shot at a pro-Morsi march near Nasr City’s Rabaa Al-Adawiya.
19-year-old Belal Ali Saber was killed as a protest in support of ousted president Mohamed Morsi approached Rabaa Al-Adawiya, where security forces have been stationed to prevent attempts at establishing a new sit-in.
On 14 August, security forces violently dispersed the two main pro-Morsi sit-ins in Cairo’s Rabaa Al-Adawiya mosque and Giza’s Nahda Square, leaving hundreds dead.
On Friday, pro-Morsi protesters took to the streets, marking 100 days since Morsi’s ouster.
Six protesters were arrested in Cairo on Friday, in addition to another nine others in Alexandria and Menoufia.
On Sunday, the fortieth anniversary of Egypt’s 1973 war with Israel, over 50 protesters were killed as clashes erupted between Morsi supporters and security forces backed by Morsi opponents.
