The Ministerial Committee formed by the cabinet to discuss the issue of Nile University (NU) stated that NU will be allowed to use buildings and laboratories located in the 6th of October city. NU will pay fees for having the right to use the buildings until being turned in to a public university.
The Committee also noted that Zewail City for Science and Technology will be entitled to use the buildings included under a decree issued by the Cabinet for one year. Zewail City will pay usage fees until declaring a judgement in 3 months.
The Committee’s investigations revealed that in 2001 a plot has been allocated to establishing a university for technological education as per a suggestion by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology. In 2006 a presidential decree approved the establishment of NU.
