The Board of Trustees of Nile University (NU) has held an emergency meeting for resolving the problem of the students who have staged a sit-in inside NU’s buildings that have been allocated to Zewail City for Science and Technology in the 6th of October city. The meeting comes as a result of the Central Security Forces’ attempt to force the protesters to leave using violence.
A source from the Board of Trustees said this meeting will issue a decision to face the cabinet’s intransigence concerning NU’s plots, noting that the University seeks to carry out procedures to allow students resume their study.
The Ministerial Committee formed by the cabinet to discuss the issue of Nile University (NU) previously stated that NU will be allowed to use buildings and laboratories located in the 6th of October city. NU will pay fees for having the right to use the buildings until being turned in to a public university.
The Committee also noted that Zewail City for Science and Technology will be entitled to use the buildings included under a decree issued by the Cabinet for one year. Zewail City will pay usage fees until declaring a judgement in 3 months.
