Nile University Students who joined the set-in, taking place in front of Zewail City for Science and Technology, have received threats by thugs to end their set-in by using force. Whereupon, students have broke into the university’s building.

Dr. Tarek Khalil, Nile University President, stated that the students and their supporters who belong to student unions of universities such as AUC, GUC, ERU, and BUE, did not break into the building until the thugs threatened them, pointing out that the students did not even intend to do that.

He added to Amwal Al Ghad that the students holding protests inside the university insist on staying until specifying the ownership of the plots in which the university were built and the university’s attitude towards Zwail City for Science and Technology, explaining that the set-in is led by students, their parents, researchers, and professors, in addition to a number of students at private universities and some revolutionists.

Nile University has called upon President Mohamed Morsi to handle the problem emerging due to allocating the university’s buildings in Sheikh Zayed City to Zewail City,  Khalil said.

He pointed out that the President has promised to resolve this problem after forming the new government, noting that the three previous governments of Ahmed Shafiq, Essam Sharf, and Kamal El- Ganzouri have failed to find a solution to this problem.
