New expansions to meet Egypt’s needs of petroleum products – EGPC

Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) is drawing up an expansion plan to meet state’s needs of petroleum products, Amr Mostafa -vice executive chairman for operations- said Monday. The plan targets establishing new tanks and warehouses in all governorates.

Mostafa told Amwal Al Ghad that EGPC has finished establishing new tank in Port Said governorate’s solar warehouse to boost its capacity to around 9,000 cubic feet to meet large part of governorate’s solar needs.

He clarified that EGPC is currently studying a number of projects to establish another warehouses within the upcoming period.

EGPC has finished upgrading and rehabilitating Ras Ghareb  warehouse with investments estimated at around 2 million Egyptian pounds since its capacity is around 1,500 tonnes of solar.

Mostafa noted that EGPC targets providing all state’s needs of different petroleum products; solar fuel, and heating oil through expanding in rehabilitating old warehouses.

The rehabilitation works aims at boosting warehouses’ capacities to accommodate large amounts of fuel to face any crisis that could happen within the coming period, the official added.
