Fifty Data updating employees at National Bank of Egypt (NBE) whose contracts were terminated announced that they will hold an open-ended sit-in in front of NBE’s headquarter on Sunday if their demands are not responded to.
154 employees were sacked after working two years for NBE because they did not pass the Bank’s tests. The protestors demanded Central bank of Egypt’s intervention on the issue.
Employees said that they demonstrated many times at the Cabinet who sent three letters to Tarek Amer, chairman of NBE, asking him to return the sacked employees, but he ignored these letters.
