International delegations continue to arrive in Egypt to attend the inauguration on Thursday of the Suez Canal.
Early on Thursday, commander in chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Viktor Chirkov arrived in Cairo.
President of Angola José Eduardo dos Santos, deputy prime minister of Lesotho Mothetjoa Metsing and deputy chairman of African Union Commission Erastus Mwencha all arrived in Cairo on Thursday.
Other African heads of state from Niger, Congo, Togo and Mauritania have had arrived in Egypt on Wednesday to participate in the ceremony, in addition to the prime ministers of Mali and Ethiopia.
Also on Wednesday, a US congressional delegation headed by Darrell Eisa,arrivedinCairo.
Gulf guests which already arrived in Cairo include a Bahraini delegation headed by King of Bahrain Hamed bin Isa Al Khalifa
Qatari Minister of Transportation Jassim Saif Al Sulaiti, the deputy speaker of the Kuwaiti national assembly have arrived.
MENA also reported the arrival of other Arab delegations including Lebanon, Tunisia, Oman, Algeria and Palestine.
Delegations from Asian countries, including China and the Philippines, had also arrived in Cairo’s airport.
More officials are expected to arrive on Thursday to attend the opening ceremony set to take place in Ismailia city.
