Military police managed to save the Egyptian Iron and Steel Company from thieves and outlaws after the company exposure to several forced attempts that resulted in a large financial loss amounted to about 35 million EGP during the past few days.
Mohamed Said -President of Iron and Steel Company- said that the Companies’ security men entered an asymmetrical war with thieves before the presence of military police forces, and he added that the thieves were using loaders and machine guns to steal the company’s products from cast-iron to sell it in the black market, mentioning that the price per ton of cast-iron reached 1800 EGP.
Mohamed said that the constant presence of the military police now around the company – which area is about 5,000 acres – restored the security and stability, and led the thieves to escape, as the Chairman of the company said that the response of the armed forces to the save the company act as a part of the armed forces framework of efforts to get security and stability back to the Egyptian street and also to protect the public money.
He added that the Major General Hamdy Badeen -The Director of Military Police- performs a constant contact to monitor the security situation daily, and the company’s board of directors and its staff’s -25,000 workers- are thankful to the efforts of the armed forces that working to return the security and stability.
