Mohamed Abdel Salam, chairman of Misr for Central Clearing, Depository and Registry (MCDR), has announced that he would run for the Egyptian Football Association presidency elections.
Abdel Salam told Amwal Al Ghad that he had taken the decision to run for the Egyptian FA elections after a thorough study.
He added that Eng. Samih Sawiris – El Gouna FC sport club chairman – has joined him on the campaign trail.
The Egyptian FA will be announcing today the final list of candidates’ names who are running for its presidency elections.
Abdel Salam had negated that running for the Egyptian FA elections would reversely affect his performance as the MCDR chairman.
“Running for this election has nothing to do with the financial sector; it is just like being the current chairman of MCDR Sport Co. alongside of the parent company, the MCDR.” Abdel Salam added
Meanwhile, the MCDR chairman stressed the importance of the sports activities resumption as for being the best way of tourism publicity indicating Egypt’s stability restoration.
