Khaled Saba: VP For Economic Affairs Pivotal For Capital Market

Khaled Saba, the Head of Beltone Investment Banking, proposed having a vice president for economic affairs who shall be responsible for holding talks and meetings with all the capital market institutions.

“Having a Vice President for Economic Affairs will substantially contribute towards upgrading the Egyptian Exchange’s role and performance through coordinating the most effective plans, decrees, and amendments the bourse needs.” Saba added

Saba noted that the capital market incurs multiple issues which need to be reconsidered and reviewed.

Elsewhere, Saba calls for activating a number of new mechanisms so as to boost EGX’s trading value and volumes, and to attract further IPOs and subscription offers.

“It is pivotal to expand in launching mega projects and to plan to subscribe them in the EGX.”

Khaled Saba has become the Head of Beltone Investment Banking since June 2009.

Since June 2009 to date, Beltone Investment banking team was successful in closing seven high debt, Equity capital markets and M&A high profile transactions with a total transactions value of EGP 11.8 billion.

Saba has a long and successful experience in the banking sector, followed by valuable operational and business development experience in Orascom Telecom (“OT”) where he participated and/or headed several high profile transactions for OT in Iraq, Bangladesh, Italy, Egypt and Korea. Mr. Saba’s experience spans over all segments of the industry covering mobile, fixed, telecom infrastructure, marine fiber optics, broadband, BPOs and VAS.

Previously, he headed Investment Banking at the Arab Banking Corporation in Egypt where he gained robust expertise in structuring and managing equity transactions in the MENA region. Prior to this he co-headed Research and was the senior Telecom Analyst at EFG-Hermes.

Saba was previously a member of the board of several OT companies and member of the board of the Smart Villages Company.
