J.P. Morgan’s Asia-Pacific Head Quits

J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.’s chairman and chief executive officer for the Asia Pacific region, Gaby Abdelnour, is leaving the bank.

Lebanese-born Mr. Abdelnour has led the bank in Asia Pacific since July 2006. He joined JP Morgan in 1998.

The memo said that Mr. Abdelnour will leave the bank this summer to pursue personal interests.

During his tenure in Asia, J.P. Morgan’s business in the region has doubled in size and its net earnings have tripled, the memo said. Mr. Abdelnour has served as a member of J.P. Morgan’s Executive Committee and the Investment Bank Operating Committee, Wall Street Journal reported.
