Orange has announced the appointment of Jean Marc Harion as CEO and managing director of its Egyptian unit, replacing Yves Gauthier, effective September 1, 2016.
Harion, who has held several CEO roles within the Orange Group, will leave his duties as CEO of Orange Belgium on August 31, 2016. Orange Egypt board of directors will ratify his appointment on July 21.
“The board of directors wishes to thank Jean Marc Harion for the transformation work he has done at Orange Belgium during his term,” an Orange Group statement said.
“The launch of 4G and the return to growth in the mobile market, the launch of internet and TV and the adoption of the Orange brand in particular have helped to consolidate the company’s position on the Belgian market and promote its return to sustainable growth.”
Harion had also tweeted the news on Twitter, stating: “Leaving Orange Belgium on Aug 31. As of Sep 1, I will become the CEO of Orange Egypt, the largest Orange operation in customer numbers.”
