The Information Technology Industry Development Agency “ITIDA” has signed today a memorandum of understanding with the Information and Communication Technology Association-Ethiopia (ICT-ET) in order to strengthen cooperation between the two sides and support business conducted between public and private sectors in Egypt and Ethiopia with regard to information technology and communication via maintaining a continuous exchange of dialogue.
The memorandum aims at developing internal trade between the two countries in the fields of information technology and business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, increasing opportunities for Egyptian companies to invest in the Ethiopian information technology sector by opening communication channels with relevant organizations in Addis Ababa and helping them in investigating and combating technical problems.
On his part, Eng. Hany Mahmoud, Minister of Communication and Information Technology, stressed on the importance of achieving integration among African countries in the communications field in order to face the challenges of the coming period. He added that the memorandum is one of the serious measures taken by the Ministry and its affiliated bodies to activate the vision of the Egyptian government regarding enhancing Egypt’s relations with African countries.
