Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA) and Huawei signed on Thursday a cooperation agreement to boost the country’s indicators in the artificial intelligence (AI) field, according to Ministry of Transport.
Under the contract, the two sides will cooperate in preparing a report that includes an analysis of performance in the field of employing AI technologies in Egypt.
Both sides will set a road map to enhance AI development efforts, which includes a plan to adopt a status of use AI technology, according to the statement.
Egypt is keen to take many measures to promote the use of artificial intelligence, which has contributed to the progress of Egypt’s ranking in global AI indicators, said the Minister of Trasport, Amr Talaat.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Hossam Osman, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority, and Jim Liu, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Egypt.
