The chamber of Information Technology at the Federation of Egyptian Industries will hold a meeting with Dr. Hani Mahmoud, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, next week to discuss the sector’s needs during the coming period, in addition to reviewing the role of the chamber.
Eng. Hesham Sand, Chairman of the Chamber, stated that this meeting will be attended by the Chamber’s representatives, but they have not specified the number of attendees yet. He added that the Chamber welcomes the attendance of representatives from the civil society organization “Etisal.”
He pointed out that this meeting will focus on the priorities of this sector, including issuing private regulations and legislations that will directly affect both the companies working in that sector and the Egyptian society as a whole, the increasing local demand on products, providing technical, administrative, and financial support for small-and-medium-sized enterprises, in addition to developing long-term plans for opening business opportunities to such enterprises and paying off their dues.
The meeting will also highlight the chamber’s achievements during the previous period, noting that the chamber works according to 4 axes, including creating opportunities for member companies, carrying out projects, supporting exports, and providing new job opportunities in addition to keeping the existing ones, he said.
Moreover, he added that the chamber has conducted a protocol with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Misr El Kheir Foundation to offer 400 people with disabilities a specialized training that can be a benefit to the companies working in that sector.
