The Insurance Brokerage Development Society (Ebda’) will study the requests submitted by insurance brokerage companies to join the society in its first general assembly on November 20th, said Talaat Abou Kalam, chairman of the society and managing director of Gig – Insurance Brokers.
The society received 25 requests from insurance brokerage companies asking to join the society. The society’s first priorities are protecting the rights of insurance brokerage companies, raising awareness on the importance of these companies and coordinating with concerned bodies to improve the insurance brokerage sector, he noted.
Abou Kalam pointed that the society does not refuse cooperation with the Egyptian Insurance Brokers Association (EIBA), although the latter has established a subsidiary division for insurance brokerage companies.
The Society will hold elections to increase the number of its member from five to nine in its general assembly meeting. Each member serves 3-year term.
It is worth mentioning that the society will hold its first conference next March under the auspices of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA).
