Meta Platforms Inc’s Instagram back up for most users after a technical issue has disrupted services to thousands of people, as the company has announced on Sunday, that the issue had been resolved.

“Earlier today, a technical issue caused some people to have trouble accessing Instagram. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted,” said a Meta spokesperson to Reuters.

The company, however, did not state the number of users affected by the app’s disruption. Outage tracking website Downdetector.com recorded more than 100,000 incidents in the US, 24,000 in Canada and more than 56,000 in Britain.

At the outage’s peak, more than 180,000 users reported issues with accessing the application.

According to Downdetector.com, the application was down for some users on Sunday from around 5:45 p.m. EST (21:45 GMT). The number of outages dropped to around 7,000 reports by 8:30 p.m. EST.

According to Reuters, Downdetector.com tracks outages by gathering status reports from several sources, including users.
