Eng. Hany Mahmoud, Minister of Communications and Information Technology stated that the decision concerned with increasing the minute rate for mobile calls will be considered, noting that Egypt represents the lowest minute rate all over the world.
The Minister- in the program Studio 27 Egyptian television- added that the Ministry has asked Google to ban broadcasting the prophet’s profaning movie, but Google refused, highlighting that the terms for blocking any video are not applicable on that movie.
7300 job opportunities have been granted for EDU Egypt’s graduates, the Minister said, noting that the old Telecommunication Regulation Law has been amended to include information exchange freedom but is still awaiting the approval of the People’s Assembly.
Moreover, the Ministry provides aids for establishing a telecommunications regulatory agency in Sudan, in addition to supporting the development of schools offering vocational education.
