HP Negotiates with Mobiles Operators over Cloud Computing Services: CEO

Hussein Hamza, CEO of HP Egypt, said the initiative proposed by the ministry of communications and Information technology is good. He referred to the necessity of suggesting mechanisms to be implemented and specifying the demanded content in the initiative in order to know the possibility of putting executive plan with specific goals.

The ministry proposed initiative “Epad” which depends on providing tablet for each student should submit to an executive plan with specified period. He said the proposed costs should be restructured pursuant to the global prices.

As per the Egyptian market, HP Egypt launched eighth generation servers. The servers represent in providing massive quantity of energy to be used in other resources. HP Egypt aims to spread the technology of the new servers in different sectors of the Egyptian markets. This comes in HP’s global plan under the name “Moon Shot” for providing technology with less energy use.

In the same context,  Hamza said that HP is negotiating now with the phone operators in order to provide the cloud computing services. As these cloud computing services provide various services for the business sector with low prices.

He told “Amwal AL Ghad” that the new servers provide 96% of the used energy with cost less than 89%; explaining that the “IDC” indicators showed that the new technology is the best since 15 years.

He mentioned that the company’s strategy had to expand in providing cloud computing services for different sectors, suitably with the company’s global orientation, in q1 of 2012 in order to have an integrated platform. He added that the company will focus on a number of sectors such as banks, gas and petroleum sectors, in addition to other influential sectors in the country.

Hamza referred to HP Global which spent $ 50 billion investments last years, as it monopolized “Autonomy Co.” with $ 10 billion, and “3 Brothers Co.” with $ 13 billion.  It also expanded its search services to help the company knows the customer’s needs and providing comprehensive services.
