Google, Vodafone, and HTC have launched a new service for Google Maps in the Middle East and North Africa. The service is considered a pilot navigation via mobiles operating with Android 4.0 , such as HTC one x, in cooperation with Vodafone Egypt.
This service, which will be available in 9 countries in the Middle East, relies on using internet in navigation via the Global Positioning System or what is known as “satnav” (satellite navigation). It also generates voice commands to guide the driver for free.
Emad El Azhary, Chief Marketing Officer at Vodafone Egypt, expected that this new service will achieve success in Egyptian markets, noting that his company’s cooperation with Google and HTC enhances their opportunities for achieving growth in the market and meeting the customers’ needs.
