The global coronavirus death toll has surpassed on Saturday 160,518, according to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University.
The United States reported the highest number of fatalities worldwide, and has so far confirmed 38,835 deaths, of which 13,517 were from the U.S. epicentre of New York City, Hopkins’ data showed.
Italy reported the second-highest number of deaths, having 23,227 fatalities while Spain’s death toll currently amounts to 20,639, the data added.
