Fresh air, on foot, and with bicycles, skateboards, and scooters, children in Spain went outside on Sunday for the first time after six weeks of living under one of the strictest coronavirus lockdowns in Europe.
Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced on Saturday an easing of lockdown restrictions, allowing children under 14, one hour of supervised outdoor activity per day between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., within around a mile away from their homes.
The relaxation of restrictions came as Spain registered its lowest daily rise in the coronavirus death count in more than a month.
Spain, one of the countries worse hit by the coronavirus pandemic, reported on Sunday 288 virus-related deaths, the lowest count in more than a month, bringing the total number to 23,190.
