To satisfy the fascination Sean has with Ancient Egypt, Minister of Antiquities Mamdouh Eldamaty offered the seven-year-old boy and his parents a year-long free admission pass to enter all archaeological sites and museums around Egypt.
Sean’s mother said that her son’s love of Egypt began when he red a book on Ancient Egypt when he was six years old. He continued to seek more information, borrowing all the books on the subject available in his school library.
She added that Sean received gifts from the Egyptian Tourist Authority in New York, along with an invitation to attend the premiere lecture of renowned archaeologist Zahi Hawaas on 26 October in New York City.
Egyptian tour guide Walid Al-Batouty told Ahram Online that he met Sean at the Metropolitan Museum and his obsession with Ancient Egyptian civilisation was clear as he admired the artefacts on display.
His questions were pointed and showed depth of reading on the history of Egypt.
Back in Egypt, Al-Batouty spoke to Hawass about Sean and sent the child a birthday gift and called him on his birthday on 21 August.
