France’s Macron spoke with Kuwaiti emir about Qatar-Gulf rift – Elysee

France’s President Emmanuel Macron spoke Monday with the Emir of Kuwait to discuss the ongoing rift between Qatar and Arab states, the Elysee palace said in a statement.

Earlier, Macron’s foreign minister met with his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, who said Qatar supported Kuwait’s mediation efforts and was ready to engage in talks that conform with international law.
