Four police personnel were injured Saturday night in an armed attack by unknown assailants at the church of Abu Seifein on the outskirts of the Suez Canal city of Port Said.
The police forces who were at the scene guarding the church were attacked by unknown assailants, who fired birdshot during a hit-and-run.
It remains unclear whether the assailants targeted the policemen or the church itself.
Dozens of churches have been attacked and set on fire, mostly in Upper Egypt, by angry protesters following the ouster of Mohamed Morsi and the dispersal of two pro-Morsi protest camps on 14 August.
