Egypt’s General Authority for Roads, Bridges, and Land Transport (GARBLT) has assigned four local contractors to execute part of paving works on Benha-Mansoura road project, GARBLT chairman Adel Tork announced Sunday.
The project also includes carrying out paving and concrete work in addition to works related to traffic safety under the supervision of Egyptian Ministry of Transportation, Tork said.
At a total cost of 200 million Egyptian pounds ($22.5 million), Benha-Mansoura road project will be handed over to four construction companies, which are part of the Holding Company for Roads, Bridges and Land Transportation Projects.
General Nile Company for Roads and Bridgeswill take over18 km of the total length at a cost of 73 million pounds; while General Nile Company for Roads Construction will be implementing 20 km with a cost of 80 million pounds.
As for the third contractor, the General Nile Company for Desert Roads will execute 20 km of the total length for 80 million pounds. The remaining 15 km will be implemented at a cost of 73 million pounds by General Nile Company for Construction and Paving.
