Foreign Profit-takers Drag Egypt Shares to Lose EGP968 million at Midday

Egypt’s bourse incurred losses on Tuesday amounting to 968 million Egyptian pounds driven by foreign profit-takers during the midday session. Consequently, Egypt’s main index – EGX 30 fell below 7465 points on Tuesday noon.

The Egyptian Exchange’s indices were wavering in mixed notes during the midday session.

Indices

The Benchmark EGX30 fell by 0.35% to 7462.05 p; EGX20 also decreased by 0.43 % to 8864.81 p.

Additionally, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 went up by 0.21% to 611.91 p.  Price index EGX100 remained with no change at 1046.74 p.

Furthermore, market capitalization registered EGP 459.705 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 12:31 p.m. Cairo time (10:31 GMT).

Turnovers & Trading Volumes

The trading volume has recorded 94.025 million securities, with turnovers reached EGP 330.308 million, exchanged through 13.564 transactions during Tuesday midday.

Also during the midday session, 168 listed securities have been traded in; 81 fell, 59 advanced; while 28 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Arabs and the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers on Tuesday seizing 3.47% and 4.19% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 1.650 million and 4.201 million respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, Egyptian investors were net buyers acquiring 92.35% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 5.852 million, excluding the deals.
