The United Arab Emirates (UAE) launched on Sunday the Arab Digital Economy Conference in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The conference will for the first time present an initiative for a common Arab digital economy strategy under the theme of “A Common Vision For an Arab Digital Economy Initiative.”
The forum will present Arab countries with the digital economy’s strategy aiming to enhancing cooperation between Arab countries towards digital transformation and technological development .
The conference will showcase different parts of the strategy, as well the economic opportunities in Arab countries that have resulted from the digital transformation.
Moreover, Arab Digital Economy Conference is a new platform to design a map of investment strategy and policy formulation and development of technologies, through the adoption of the restructuring of processes, products and services using digital technology.
The conference is held in participation with the Central Bank of Egypt Governor, Tarek Amer, Sub Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) for Payment Systems and Information Technology, Ayman Hussein and former telecommunications minister Atef Helmi, along with representatives of other Arab countries.
On the other hand, Ali Al-Khouri, advisor to The Council of Arab Economic Unity (CAEU) revealed that the conference will highlight the vast economic opportunities available for Arab countries, as a result of their digital transformation, stressing that many international investment funds are investing in the fields of technology in the Arab world, as well as huge opportunities for inter-Arab investments in the digital economy infrastructure.
