FEB Seeks E-Government Draft Activation in Egypt Banks

Abdel Hamid Soliman, President of the Technology Committee of the Federation of Egyptian banks (FEB) revealed that the meetings with the Egyptian Administrative Development Ministry are currently conducting in order to activate e-government draft (digital government) and to spread it in various banks.

Soliman informed Amwal Al Ghad in an exclusive that FEB is seeking to apply the draft in cooperation with the Ministry throughout spreading e-screen kiosks connected to the civil register, it will help the citizen to obtain the needed official documents including birth certificates, ID cards and other.

He added that the draft will be applied in the long-term as to deploy these screens in the various branches of banks in order to provide the governmental services for customers, explaining that a meeting will be held within the current month with the Ministry to discuss how to apply the draft.

FEB is targeting to obtain the parliament approval during the coming period regarding the amendment of e-documents draft to permit using documents in banks through the official transactions in stead of insecurities documents.
