European stocks open in dark red after Russia attacks Ukraine

European stocks started trading sharply lower on Thursday after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a military operation in Ukraine.

In the opening minutes of the trade the FTSE 100 sank by 2.5 percent, the French CAC 40 tumbled by 4 percent, and Germany’s Dax dived by 4 percent.
