European markets gain as investors monitor economic data and reopening efforts.

The pan-European Stoxx 600 climbed by 1.3% in early trade, with basic resources bouncing 2.5% to lead gains as all sectors and major bourses entered positive territory.

The transmission rate for the coronavirus remained below the key threshold of 1 in Germany following initial easing of lockdown measures, the Robert Koch Institute for Disease Control said Thursday.
