Etisalat Egypt will start activating mobile payment and money transfer services in cooperation with the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Banque Misr.
Mr. Saeed Al Hamli, CEO of Etisalat Egypt, said his company is ready to start payment services and money transfer via mobile phone in the coming May, pointing out that the companies await written approvals from the Information and Communication Technology Ministry (MCIT) and the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to start activating the service.
On the sidelines of Etisalat Egypt’s Smartphone conference, Al Hamli has pointed out that the company eyes to activate the services within days after meeting with NTRA and MCIT.
Moreover, Al Hamli has indicated that the service has obtained approvals from NTRA and Central Bank, asserting that the companies are committed with a maximum of EGP 3000 daily and EGP 5000 monthly for the same phoneline.
