ElBaradei: Violating Constitution’s Articles Makes It Void

Dr Mohamed ElBaradei, Chairman of Al Dostour Party (Constitution Party), said breaching some articles of the constitution makes it void, even holding referendum on it.

On his “Twitter” account, on Wednesday, ElBaradei referred to the violation of the new constitution’s articles through naming some members of the dissolved National Democratic Party in the Shura Council. He wrote: ” Egypt constitution void as it conflicts w/ certain peremptory norms of international law “jus cogens” e.g. Freedom of belief, expression etc..”
