Egypt’s paper products exports reported a 16% decline in 2014 to reach 2 billion Egyptian pounds (US$261.8 million), from 2.5 billion in 2013.
According to the Egyptian Chemicals & Fertilizers Export Council’s latest report, Interstate Paper Industries Company has seized 26% of Egypt’s 2014 paper exports, obtaining 410 million pounds in the past year.
Coming in the second position, Al Sendian for Paper Industry captured 312.7 million pounds worth of paper exports in 2014. Mintra- Misr for Industry and Trade ranked third, with exports of 216.5 million pounds. Procter and Gamble-Egypt was in the fourth place with 129.4 million pounds worth of exports.
Fifth, Pyramids Paper Mills – Flora recorded exports amounted to 108.9 million pounds, followed by Zeina Tissue Products with exports estimated at 108.7 million pounds, and El Bardi Paper Mill Co. – Fine with 87.5 million pounds approximately.
On the top countries importing Egypt’s paper products during 2014, Saudi Arabia ranked first with 288.5 million pounds, followed by Kenya with 215.5 million pounds, Britain with 192 million pounds, USA with 190.8 million pounds, and Libya with 101 million pounds.
