Egypt’s Suez Canal has recorded the highest number of ships passing in its history of 107 ships on both directions without any delay, with a total net loads of 6.3 million tons, its chairman announced on Monday.
The number of ships that cross the canal from the northern side is 56 ships with a total net loads of 3.4 million tons. While the southern side of the canal is crossed by 51 ships with a total net load of 2.9 million tons.
The canal witnesses different types of giant ships including 25 container ships, 28 pouring vessels, 33 tanks, 6 vehicle carriers, and 15 ships of different types of general goods.
