Egypt’s stocks end week lower in choppy trading, benchmark EGX 30 solely up

Egypt’s stock exchange’s (EGX) indexes ended lower in choppy trading on Thursday, with the benchmark EGX 30 index solely up. The index grew 0.06 percent to 10,279 points.

EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) lost 0.79 percent to 2,329 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped dipped 0.01 percent to 12,877 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 fell 0.58 percent to 3,297 points. Meanwhile, the equal weights index, EGX 50 edged down 0.56 percent to 2,201 points.

Market Cap   

The country’s market capitalisation has on Thursday incurred losses worth around 222 million Egyptian pounds ($14.1 million), ending the trading at 651.463 billion pounds amid foreign investors’ selloff.

Trading Aggregates            

Trading value has approximately reached around 2 billion pounds, while the trading volume has almost recorded 405.501 million securities executed 44,749 transactions.
